<datacite:description descriptionType="Abstract">The Mexican Hometown Associations （HTAs）, gradually formed by Mexican immigrants since the mid-twentieth century, foster ties between the United States and their homelands in coordination with the economic, cultural, and labor activities of immigrants. Although the primary role of HTAs is in collective remittances to hometowns and social welfare activities, much of the research on HTAs has focused on their role as remittance development agents. This paper provides an overview of HTAs and examine on their role in cultural economic activities. In addition, I will review papers, articles, and media surveys on how the Mexican culture of their hometown has been reproduced in the United States. Finally, I summarize the direction of analysis of the social landscape created by Mexican immigrants.</datacite:description>
