It responded to the idea of the Oratorians’, an open and public library that accepts all visitors seeking knowledge. For visitors, Borromini arranged available reading rooms to study freely, considering their use of terraces. Not only for visitors’ convenience but also for the Oratorians’ in order not to disturb the private life, Borromini carefully examined the vertical and horizontal movement and the plans of the library and each room related to it. For the preacher as a guest staying in the building for a certain period, Borromini also made him easy to use the library, secured a flow line that did not intersect with the area of the Oratorians’ rooms, and arranged his rooms.
