As an ideal library, Borromini referred to the Barberini Library, which had almost the same size of the salone, specially, its vault structure. It is considered that Borromini’s design of the bookshelves of 2 stories with a walkway is the development of the Barberini Library. The balusters of wooden pillars, which support the walkway, clearly separate the space of the bookrests from the large space of the salone, and create the individual and available spaces for the readers.
