| 内容記述 | Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine methods for assessing quality of life by “life satisfaction” related to cancer treatment status among middle-aged and older people living in the community, to provide assistance when providing support to these individuals. Method: A total of three surveys were conducted over six years starting in 2013 among 9,508 middle-aged and older people living in 25 prefectures. Of the 3,345 people who responded to all surveys, 2,888 men and women aged 60-85 were analyzed, excluding deceased and missing data. The subjects were divided into four groups based on their cancer treatment status over the six years. “Life satisfaction” was used for assessing quality of life related to cancer treatment over a six-year period and changes in life satisfaction were compared between groups. Results: The results were “no cancer treatment” （92%）, “cancer treatment six years later”（4.2%）, “continued cancer treatment for six years” （1.4%）, and “no cancer treatment six years later”（ 2.4%）. The proportion of people with “decreased life satisfaction” was significantly higher in “cancer treatment six years later” （22.3%） than in “no cancer treatment” （12.6%）. Furthermore, even after adjusting to life satisfaction at the start of the survey, gender, age, etc., having cancer treatment during the six-year period had a negative impact on life satisfaction six years later（ odds ratio： 0.63（0.43－0.93））. Conclusion: A life satisfaction was found to be associated with six years of cancer treatment in middle-aged and older community-dwelling people, suggesting that it could be used as an assessment methods easily evaluate the quality of life of cancer treatment recipients. |
