| 内容記述 | Over the past two decades, I have conducted extensive research into the self-consciousness of Homo sapiens. Initially, I sought to elucidate the principles of artificial intelligence philosophically. Next, I contrasted Homo sapiens with future human, which are artificial and entirely different from us, such as humanoids and bioroids, to clarify the characteristics of their cognition and selfconsciousness. In my paper, published one year ago, I elucidated that self-consciousness can be observed from the earliest stages of life on Earth. And that, without body living things cannot acquire self-consciousness. Physical sensation, such as kinesthetic sensation and tactile perception, is the foundation of self-consciousness. Recently, we often hear it said that artificial intelligence may soon acquire ego, free will, and personality. Even if artificial intelligence with body and physical senses emerges in the near future, AI will not acquire self-consciousness. From the phenomenological perspective, neither AI nor human being is preconception in the Life-world( Lebenswelt) that they( we) have selfconsciousness. The belief that they possess self, free will, and personality is a result of emotional investment. According to the phenomenological method, both AI and human beliefs are equivalent in that they arise from the attribution of meaning. Concepts such as self, free will, and personality are shared conceptual images commonly held and understood by the majority of humankind. The concept of the self is inherently fluid, constantly shaped by individual experiences and environmental influences. Among the elements that constitute this concept, physical traits like make-up, fashion-related aspects such as clothing and hairstyle, and outward behaviors play a significant role. These factors influence one’s self-image and are reflected in self-recognition. In order to resolve the instability of the self, we unconsciously strive to solidify it, engaging in various behaviors to regulate our self-image. The profound impact of appearance on the self has been harnessed in numerous cases to alleviate psychological and cognitive issues. Yet, this same influence has also been exploited for mind control and indoctrination. Appearance has enormous power in making self, beauty, and fashion —acts of shaping one’s appearance according to personal free will— we do not dismiss them as merely a superficial and trivial act. Rather, society must respect the freedom of individuals to shape their appearance through their own free will, recognizing this freedom as a fundamental human right. With this paper, I consider that my philosophical research on the self of Homo sapiens has been completed. Although my philosophical investigation will continue, future studies will change both the theme and the way of presentation. |
