| 内容記述 | The aim of this paper is to examine common errors on pronunciation in English reading and speaking among the Japanese students in the author’s course, English Communication II, and to discover teaching practices for improving the teaching of English pronunciation to the Japanese students in the class as well as improving the students’ pronunciation. The results indicated that ①Japanese language itself has given the participants major issues with phonological errors, ②English consonants seem to present greater difficulties for Japanese students than vowel sounds, ③The participants in the low proficiency group have more phonological problems than the ones in the high proficiency group, ④The influence of the syllable-timed language seems to cause the problems in lack of smoothness in their reading. |
